200 Hour YTT
This training is for anyone with approximately 50 hours of asana practice who wishes to deepen his or her commitment and understanding of Yoga theory and practice in a format that allows time for integration of both yoga philosophy and methodology.

There is heavy emphasis on anatomy and physiology as well as instruction on how to cue modifications and teach to all populations. Our entire faculty has extensive training, all having earned E-RYT 500, E-RYT 200, or RYT 500 designations, and exceeding the current requirements set by the internationally recognized organization, Yoga Alliance. The program is led by Lynn Slocomb, E-RYT 500, and complemented by the teachings of The Light Within Yoga Instructors Julia Byrem, E-RYT 500, Tracey Eltringham, Patty Jacobs, and Jenny Wood (E-RYT 200, RYT 500, or both). This training will provide a solid foundation in yoga teaching and practice and WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Exercise Science and Anatomy and Physiology is instructed by a certified physical therapist and/or nurse practitioner.
Upon successful completion of the course, trainees are eligible to receive a 200 hour R.Y.T. designation from the internationally recognized organization, Yoga Alliance, and may desire to move into a profession of leading/guiding others through their yoga practice. The Light Within Yoga Studio is a registered Yoga School. The Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) Program consists of eight weekend intensives and Tuesday evening seminar/study sessions. We will meet every Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:30 pm. Weekend modules will consist of Friday evenings from 6:00 - 8:30 pm, Saturdays from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, and Sundays from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The curriculum is designed to afford you the opportunity to complete the program within as little as six (6) months or take as long as nine (9) months if needed. Regular attendance in the Tuesday evening sessions and weekend intensives is mandatory. In addition, there will be assigned readings, projects, and journaling. Teacher trainees will be expected to develop their personal/home practice and attend yoga classes at least once a week in order to complete the program. Other requirements include a short research project, group practice teaching, and an open-book final exam.

Weekend Modules/Seminars are held every third weekend and Tuesday evenings. Attendance is mandatory for all modules and Tuesday evenings. Our learning will be in person in our studio. We will begin on Friday, October 11, 2024.
Schedule is as follows:
Friday evening 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm Philosophy and Theory*
Saturday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm - will consist of taking and observing two morning practices followed by lectures, practice teaching, and methodology*
Sunday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm - will consist of anatomy and physiology and yoga for special populations, etc*
Tuesday 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm -Fine tuning all of the above, working on developing personal practice, both seated (meditation) and asana.

300 Hour ADVANCED TEACHER TRAINING
This training is for anyone with approximately 50 hours of teaching experience and successful completion of a Yoga Alliance credentialed 200 hour teacher training program.

There is heavy emphasis on accessibility and equity in Yoga. Heavy emphasis is placed on anatomy, how to cue modifications, and teach to all populations. You will also learn about weaving Yoga philosophy into your teaching/classes in order to honor the origination and history of this ancient system of self care. Our entire faculty has extensive training, all having earned E-RYT 500, E-RYT 200, or RYT 500 designations. The program is led by Lynn Slocomb, E-RYT 500, and Tracey Eltringham, E-RYT 500, and complemented by the teachings of The Light Within Yoga Instructors Julia Byrem, E-RYT 500, Patty Jacobs, and Jenny Wood (E-RYT 200, RYT 500, or both). This training will provide an advanced understanding of yoga teaching and practice and WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

The Light Within Yoga Studio is a registered Yoga School. The Advanced Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) Program consists of ten weekend intensives and Thursday evening seminar/study sessions. We will meet the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Weekend modules will consist of Friday evenings from 5:15 pm - 8:30 pm, Saturdays from 11:30 am - 4:30 pm, and Sundays from 10:30 am - 4:00 pm. The curriculum is designed to afford you the opportunity to complete the program within as little as ten (10) months or take as long as fifteen (15) months if needed. Regular attendance in the Thursday evening sessions and weekend intensives is mandatory. In addition, there will be assigned readings, projects, and journaling. Teacher trainees will be expected to deepen their personal/home practice and their understanding of Yoga philosophy and methodology. Other requirements include a seva (service) hours, group practice teaching, and a research presentation.
